Real Men

My house is my fortress. My boys are men in training. My living room is our dojo for learning Trent Kwan Do. Its a mixed martial art style that is unique in that it confuses the enemy with pillow throws to the face while you roll around on the carpet with your dog to bring your attackers to their knees. However this fighting art form may only last up through fifth grade and then we will switch over to using ‘wit’ to defeat our enemy. The woods behind our house is for fort building and “squatch” watching. Our Wii only uses sports and auto racing games. Creeks are for wading in and mud is our face camo. Im training my boys to be men. But at night, just after they get their last drink and climb into bed with blanky and doggie, we talk about Jesus. Tonight we read from John 14 and Acts 1. Jesus is leaving but He’s coming again. And then we prayed together. Why? Because I’m training my boys to be men. And real men love Jesus.
